BEST NEW TRADITIONAL CENTER
Evergreen Lanes Featuring The Rendezvous Restaurant
Caribou, Maine
Evergreen Bowling Lanes once served Caribou Air Force Station and Loring Air Force Base. But the closing of Loring in 1994
doomed many local businesses, including the bowling center. And it certainly didn’t help the venerable Rendezvous Res-
taurant, known throughout Aroostook County for its pizza. Rendezvous survived both the base closing and COVID and was
purchased in 2022 by a long-time customer, Shawn Pelletier. With fond memories of both the restaurant and the bowl, Pelletier
decided to construct a new venue combining the two. at’s how
the bowling center with the longest name we’ve seen came to be.
In an era of downsized tenpin venues, the new Evergreen Lanes
has an increased lane count of 12. It has a retro bowling alley vibe
created by timeless, simple, comfortable and appealing spaces; a
dramatic all-glass entry; relaxed, comfortable seating in the bar/
restaurant area and a circular replace. e venue also boasts an
8-foot by 15-foot LED display.
