We just used the BPAA mystery shopper service--great report.

One of the things that was brought up was a lack of name tags . . . we have staff shirts but no name tags.

Do you require name tags? Do you feel they are important?
It's an easy fix to get them & we've been talking about doing it for a while, but just never got to it. . .

thanks
Joe

Joe,

We require name tags for the simple reason that names are very powerful in establishing trust and familiarity. When a customer can recognize great service by citing the person's name it goes along way to make the staff member feel empowered and needed. Conversely, when a staff member takes the time to learn a bowler's name they feel welcome, included, and wanted. Do folks forget there name tag on occasion, yes. Are they fired, only when it is repetitive. Is it expensive, it can be. We spend, on average $5 per employee to keep up program with customized, branded name tags.
