Oregon Files Legislation to Tax Soda

As you may already know, Oregon has filed a bill to tax soda. HB 2331 (bill text) would impose a $0.005 per ounce tax at the first sale of sugar-sweetened beverages. For a concentrate, the bill imposes a $0.64 per gallon ($0.005 per ounce per gallon) tax on sugar-sweetened beverage produced from the concentrate.
