Carolyn Dorin-Ballard Battles for Women’s U. S. Open Crown; Promotes The Bowling Foundation
ARLINGTON, TEXAS - Carolyn Dorin-Ballard, bowling champion, two-time PWBA Bowler of the Year and director of development for The Bowling Foundation, will battle Liz Johnson, Lynda Barnes and Shannon O'Keefe for the Women’s U. S. Open crown at the National Bowling Stadium on Sunday, Oct. 14. The live telecast on ESPN will occur at 1 p.m. Eastern.
During the entire U. S. Open competition facing the best women bowlers in the world, Carolyn has also promoted The Bowling Foundation through interviews and by displaying The Bowling Foundation logo on her shirts during competition giving The Foundation great exposure to the public at-large.
Carolyn is also the spokesperson for High School Bowling, a USBC Silver Certified Coach, and currently a member of the Brunswick teaching staff, as well as Dexter and Turbo 2-N-1 Grips Pro Staffs.
In addition to its continuing work in the areas of youth, education and training as well as coaching including programs such as Bowler’s ed in-school bowling, Bowling Strikes! (a new program being piloted in 4 centers this fall designed to teach youth the basics of bowling, character development, and healthy nutrition), BPAA’s Management School and Coach It Up (Coach It Up 3 is in development), The Bowling Foundation is also working on several fundraising efforts for 2008 and beyond including the Carolyn Dorin-Ballard Scholarship Fund which centers around scholarships for graduating high school female bowlers.
